I’m a relatively recent immigrant to Mexico having only been here for two years. This article really put a lot of things I suspected into perspective for me and give me a lot more background to understand. I have a much greater respect for the tight rope that Claudia is walking, but I think everyone knows change has to happen, but that doesn’t mean they want it.
Everyone knows and nobody can’t do nothing. As mark fisher said but now in the case in Mexico, it’s easier to imagine the end of Mexico than the corruption in it :(.
Eduardo, this is an excellent analysis of Mexico's political and economic architecture. You make it clear that the country's current challenges stem from the structure of power (not from a lack of talent or potential in its people). For a future piece, it would be fascinating to explore the specific conditions or scenarios that could realistically shift this architecture, especially considering the immediate impact such changes would have on entrenched monopolies and corporatist unions.

Mexicans have been dealt a bad hand as citizens of a nation’s that is rich in resources and shares the largest border with the largest economy in the history of the world. This is a 3 part series and in the 3rd piece, I write about this. There are earlier works that speak about this as well. It will not be an easy shift if the government insists on continuing with a system that basically extracts all wealth of the nation and uses it to increase their power and surely their wealth.
Thank you Oscar! We are here to push a North American narrative that needs Mexico to become a real partner and ally. We are already interconnected socially, through geography and trade. We need to get more people and governments involved to change this.

Clear and to the point acknowledges reality of our life story trap in our beloved stuck Mexico, which can not get out of it by design .
